Part 135 Director of Operations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS POSITION - Camarillo, CA (CMA)
As the Director of Operations, you will be directly responsible to the Chief Operating Officer and supervise the Chief Pilot and Dispatch Services. You shall meet the applicable requirements of 14 CFR Part 119.71(a) at the time of your appointment as Director of Operations. Your specific duties, responsibilities, and authority are as follows:
- Formulate, establish and refine Company policies and procedures as necessary.
- Modify policies and procedures to meet the needs of the company and personnel through manual revisions.
- Oversee the day-to-day flight and office operations.
- Approve and/or schedule flights.
- Conduct personnel interviews, hiring and discharging of flight personnel and schedules the training of all company employees.
- Responsible for initiating and managing the PRIA request process and responding to PRIA requests for information.
- Promote and enforce safety practices and follow the Company SMS.
- Supervise procurement, distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to any changes affecting Company policy, route information, navaids, NOTAMS, requisitioning of flying aids, aeronautical charts, etc.
- Ensure prompt reporting, filing and follow-up action on accident reports and HazMat incidents to the appropriate FAA agencies
- Responsible for the record-keeping requirements of 14 CFR Part 135.
